Why Did God Take My Business?
When faced with the question of why God took our business, it's essential to understand that our relationship with God is on a friend-to-friend basis, rather than an employee-employer relationship. God doesn't need our business or resources; He has all the power and resources in the world. However, when we properly offer our business or resources to God, we magnify Him, which is an act of worship.
The Bible teaches us that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). We can't always understand why God allows certain things to happen or why He takes our business. However, we can trust that He is working all things together for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28). Just like Job, we may not always understand why God allows us to suffer or experience setbacks, but we can trust that He is sovereign and that He is working everything out for our good.
Ultimately, God's goal is not to take our business, but to use us as He used His own Son. He wants to use us for His purposes, and when we surrender our lives and our business to Him, He can work through us to accomplish great things. As Mr. Whittemore said, "God doesn't want you to achieve great things in His name, Jerry. He just wants you to love Him, to trust Him, to wait upon Him, and to praise Him. Then He can do what He desires through you!" (1 Corinthians 1:31) We must learn to trust God's sovereignty and His goodness, even when we don't understand why He takes our business.
