The Illusion of Abandonment

You may feel abandoned by God, but this feeling may be an illusion. God is not absent, but rather, you may be disconnected from Him due to various reasons such as unresolved issues, unconfessed sins, or a lack of surrender to His will. It is possible that you have not fully abandoned yourself to God, and this lack of surrender is creating a sense of distance between you and Him.

Reasons for Feeling Abandoned

There are several reasons why you may feel abandoned by God. You may be preoccupied with your circumstances, focusing on the roadblocks in the road to God rather than seeking Him. You may be carrying around guilt, shame, or unresolved issues that are preventing you from experiencing God's presence. You may also be struggling with feelings of resentment, distrust, or depression, which can create a sense of disconnection from God. Furthermore, you may be putting other things ahead of God, such as your own desires, interests, or relationships, which can lead to a sense of abandonment.

Seeking God in Faith

To overcome the feeling of abandonment, you need to seek God in faith, not in emotions or circumstances. You need to surrender yourself to God, abandoning your own desires and interests, and seek Him with your whole heart. God wants to give you your life as a prize, but you need to be willing to abandon yourself to Him. As J. I. Packer said, "He knows the way He taketh, even if for the moment we do not."
