The Nature of Faith

Faith is not a matter of probability or inference, but rather a certainty that rests on the authority of God's Word. It is not an illusion or a guess, but a trust that is rooted in the character and promises of God. When our faith is tested by uncertainty and chaos, we must remember that faith is not about being certain about the outcome of our prayers, but about trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness, even when we don't understand what's happening.

The Results of Faith

The results of faith are many and far-reaching. Faith is the principle of the new life possessed by the justified one, and everything desirable is vitally related to and dependent upon faith. When we trust in God, we can face challenges and uncertainties with confidence, knowing that our faith will grow stronger as we navigate them. The Bible encourages us to "hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end" (Hebrews 3:14), and to believe steadfastly on God, even in the midst of chaos.

The Call to Faith

Instead, we must trust in the promises of God and store up faith for times ahead. This means that we must continually seek to deepen our understanding of God's character and promises, and to apply them to our lives in practical ways. As we do, we will find that our faith grows stronger, and that we are better equipped to face the uncertainties and challenges of life with confidence and trust in God.
