Can our daily choices bring joy to others when we're feeling stuck?

#### Joy as a Choice

Joy is not something we find; it is something we choose. We can choose to live a life that honors God and brings joy to others, even when we're feeling stuck. This is because joy is not dependent on our circumstances but on our relationship with God. As the Bible says, "You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent" (Psalm 30:11-12). Our choices can bring joy to others when we prioritize God's joy over our own feelings of stuckness.

#### The Importance of Practice

Practicing joy is key to experiencing it consistently. As the Bible says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). When we make joy a priority, we begin to see the world in a different light. We start to appreciate the small things and find joy in the everyday moments. This is not about ignoring our struggles but about choosing to see the good in them. As Richard Foster said, "Joy is the keynote of all the Disciplines." As the Bible says, "The joy of the Lord is my strength" (Nehemiah 8:10). When we experience joy, we become a source of joy to others. We can choose to share our joy with others, even when we're feeling stuck. By doing so, we can bring joy to those around us and glorify God in the process.
