What if my cancer treatment is expensive?

Facing the Reality of Cancer and the Cost of Treatment

First and foremost, our hearts go out to you in this difficult time. The diagnosis of cancer is never easy to hear, and the prospect of expensive treatment can be overwhelming. However, it's essential to remember that God is sovereign over all creation, including our health and well-being. While we can't deny the physical reality of cancer and its treatment costs, we must also consider the spiritual implications of our decisions.

The Cost of Not Following Jesus

When we look at the cost of following Jesus, it's easy to think that it will be expensive, both financially and in terms of our time and energy. However, the Bible teaches us that the cost of not following Jesus is even higher. Not following Jesus will cost us our relationship with God, which is the most valuable thing we can ever possess. As the Bible says, "What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?" (Mark 8:36). In other words, if we prioritize our wealth and material possessions above our relationship with God, we will ultimately lose the thing that truly matters.

Faith and Endurance in the Face of Cancer

In the face of cancer and expensive treatment, it's essential to rely on our faith and endurance. As the Bible says, "We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope" (Romans 5:3-4). This means that even in the midst of cancer treatment, we can find hope and peace in our relationship with God. We can trust that He is working everything out for our good, even if we can't see it right now. As the Psalmist says, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). May we find comfort and strength in God's presence during this difficult time.
