Balancing Personal Values with Biblical Teachings on Hospitality

Hospitality is a fundamental attitude and a rhythm we calendar into our Rule of Life, as emphasized by Henri Nouwen. It is a way of being in the world, characterized by a heart posture toward others, welcoming, inviting, warm, affectionate, generous, providing safety and comfort. As Christians, we are called to embody this heart posture, as seen in the example of Jesus, who received hospitality from people and extended it to others, including angels (Hebrews 13:2). This ministry is not only a way of showing love and care for one another, but also a means of demonstrating the values of the Trinity.
