What happens when I'm no longer able
When we are no longer able to fulfill our roles or responsibilities, it can be a source of great distress and anxiety. The fear of losing our ability to provide for ourselves or others can be overwhelming. In a world that values productivity and self-sufficiency, the thought of being unable to contribute can be a source of great fear. However, as Christians, we are reminded that our worth and identity are not tied to our abilities or accomplishments. Our value and worth come from our relationship with God, not from what we can do. (Psalm 139:13-14)
The Bible teaches us that God is our Rock, our Refuge, and our Strength (Psalm 18:2, 31:3). In times of weakness and inability, we can run to Him and find comfort and peace. He is not limited by our limitations and is able to work through us in ways we cannot even imagine (Philippians 4:13). Our inability is not a reflection of God's love or power, but rather a reminder of our need for Him. When we are unable to come to Him on our own, He comes to us, drawing us to Himself through His love and mercy (John 6:44). Our shared inability is a reminder of our need for a Savior, and the Bible teaches us that salvation is not based on our abilities or accomplishments, but on our faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
In the face of uncertainty and inability, we can find peace and hope in the promises of God. He is our Good Shepherd, who knows our needs and provides for us (Psalm 23:4). He is our Comforter, who stays with us in times of sorrow and pain (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Our inability is not the end, but rather an opportunity for God to work in us and through us in new and powerful ways. As we trust in Him, we can find strength and courage to face whatever challenges come our way, knowing that He is always with us and will never leave us (Hebrews 13:5). Our worth and identity are not tied to our abilities, but to our relationship with God, and in Him, we find peace, hope, and purpose.
