Finding Purpose after Being Scammed

It is understandable to feel lost and without direction after being scammed. The sense of betrayal and violation can leave one feeling vulnerable and uncertain about their future. However, as followers of Christ, we are called to trust in His sovereignty and goodness, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.

In the Bible, we see examples of people who have been deceived and robbed, yet still found purpose and meaning in their lives. For instance, the apostle Paul, who was a former persecutor of Christians, later became a devoted follower of Christ and a key figure in spreading the Gospel. His purpose in life was not defined by his past mistakes, but by his relationship with God and his commitment to serving Him. Similarly, when we are scammed, we can choose to view it as an opportunity to re-evaluate our priorities and align our purpose with God's plan for our lives.

As the passage from Zechariah 13:8-9 suggests, our sense of purpose may not be entirely accurate. We may have elevated our own desires and ambitions to a level that is not in line with God's will. This is not to say that we should not have goals and aspirations, but rather that we should prioritize our relationship with God and seek His guidance in all areas of our lives. By doing so, we can find a sense of purpose that is grounded in God's sovereignty and goodness, rather than our own fleeting desires. Ultimately, our purpose in life should be to glorify God and serve others, rather than to pursue our own selfish interests. By seeking to align our purpose with God's plan, we can find a sense of direction and meaning that is not dependent on external circumstances, but on our relationship with Him.
