A Life of Naked Faith

When we experience loss of our job and sense of purpose, it may be that God is thrusting us into a life of naked faith, to learn to love Him for Himself alone. This is what happened to Job, who was thrust into an experience of dereliction, despite being an innocent person. Job's story shows us that God's purpose is not always for us to understand, but to trust in Him and His sovereignty. As we navigate the uncertainty of life, we must learn to submit to God without questioning His goodness or motives.

Understanding God's Purpose

God's purpose is not for us to understand what we are doing, but to trust in Him and His power. Just like Job, we may not know what God's plan is for us, but we can trust that He is working everything out for our good. When we lose our job, it may be that we are in the wrong place at the wrong time, and God is indicating that we need to move on. Our relationship with God is not like an employer-employee relationship, but rather a friend-to-friend relationship. We are to serve Him with a whole heart, as if we were serving the Lord, not people.

Dependence on God

In times of turmoil and uncertainty, we must learn to depend on God and His power. Job's story shows us that God's purpose is not to punish or chastise us, but to test our faith and trust in Him. We may not understand why we are suffering, but we can trust that God is working everything out for our good. As we navigate the challenges of life, we must learn to keep on living by the grace of God, and trust in His sovereignty. By doing so, we can experience a life of naked faith, where we love God for Himself alone, and trust in His power to work everything out for our good.
