Getting Your Health Back on Track: A Biblical Perspective

As we seek to get our health back on track, it's essential to understand that our physical well-being is a blessing from God. However, if we make health our primary focus, we may become overly concerned with our physical bodies and neglect our spiritual health. As Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners" (Mark 2:17). This means that before we can experience true health, we must first recognize our spiritual need and put our trust in Christ.

To get our health back on track, we must first seek God's guidance and empowerment. This involves prayer, trusting in God's sovereignty over our bodies, and recognizing that He is the one who heals (Psalm 103:2-5). It's not about forcing ourselves to exercise or follow a strict diet, but rather about seeking God's will and allowing Him to work through us. As Brother R. C. Worley said, "Just stay with it; let God do his work through the discipline. Eventually, you'll begin to feel at ease in your body with God." This requires patience, trust, and obedience to God's Word.

In addition to seeking God's guidance, we must also take care of our physical bodies. This involves regular exercise, healthy eating, and getting enough rest. However, we must not rely solely on human effort to achieve our health goals. Instead, we must combine our physical efforts with prayer and trust in God's sovereignty. As the Bible says, "May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 5:23). By seeking God's guidance and empowerment, we can experience true health and well-being, not just physical health, but spiritual health as well.
