The Sovereignty of God

Isaiah 38:21 says, "I said to the trees, 'If you have understanding, let me know; hold back your branches, do not tremble, and let your leaves stay on; if you can, wait for me, that I may be satisfied.'" In this passage, King Hezekiah is ill and seeks the help of a doctor, but the doctor is unable to help him. Instead, Hezekiah turns to God and is healed. This passage suggests that even when human medical care fails, God can still intervene and bring about healing. In the case of the surgery that went wrong, it is possible that the surgeon or medical team made a mistake, but it is also possible that God had a different plan for the patient's life, and the surgery was not part of that plan. Ultimately, we must trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, even when medical procedures do not go as planned. We must not be afraid to ask God why a surgery went wrong and seek His guidance and comfort in the midst of uncertainty. We can have confidence that God is working all things together for our good, even when we do not understand what is happening. As the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." We can trust in God's goodness and sovereignty, even in the midst of uncertainty and hardship.
