Understanding the Nature of Safety

As a Christian, we understand that our ultimate safety comes from God, who promises to give His angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways (Psalm 91:11). This means that we can trust in God's protection, even when we are not physically safe. In fact, Jesus taught that we should not worry about our lives, but rather seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). This does not mean that we should be reckless or irresponsible, but rather that we should trust in God's sovereignty and provision.

Practical Steps to Keep Your Family Safe

While we cannot control every external threat, we can take practical steps to create a safe and loving environment for our families. This includes being mindful of our own behavior and attitudes, such as not using language that communicates anger or fear, and instead using language that communicates love and care. We should also prioritize building trust with our children, by being honest and loyal to them, and by encouraging them to work out conflicts in a healthy and constructive way. Additionally, we should pray for our families, asking God to protect them from harm and to guide us in our parenting and leadership.

Ultimately, our safety and well-being are not solely dependent on external circumstances, but on our relationship with God. When we trust in God's sovereignty and provision, we can have peace and confidence, even in the midst of uncertainty. We should pray for our families, asking God to protect them and to guide us in our parenting and leadership. We should also trust in God's promise to give His angels charge over us, and to keep us in all our ways. By doing so, we can experience the peace and security that comes from knowing that we are in God's care, even when the world around us seems uncertain and unpredictable. As the Bible says, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10).
