As a pastor and a husband, I've learned that keeping our family together and strong, even when struggling financially, requires a deep sense of unity and partnership. My wife Susan and I have been married for 19 years, and we've seen our fair share of financial ups and downs. We also make sure to teach our children, Joshua and Rebecca, about the importance of financial stewardship and the dangers of debt. In our family, we also make a conscious effort to prioritize our relationships and our values over our finances. We have a family mission statement that reminds us of our values and goals, and we make sure to review it regularly, evaluating how we're living up to it and making changes as needed. By keeping our eyes on what's truly important – our relationship with God and with each other – we're able to navigate financial struggles with greater peace and confidence. And that's a treasure that's truly worth more than any amount of money.
