Your Question:

Why can't I just be normal again?

Answer:

You may be feeling like you want to go back to your old self, to be "normal" again. But the truth is, as a Christian, you are called to be different, to be a new creation in Christ. The Bible says in Romans 8:10-12, "The mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God." This means that our old self, with its sinful nature, is at war with God. But when we become Christians, we put on a new self, with a new nature, which is submitted to God's law. This new self is what God wants us to be, and it's what will bring us true fulfillment and happiness.

But what about when we struggle with things like depression or anxiety? Why can't we just be normal again? The truth is, as Christians, we are not immune to struggles and challenges. But we can face them with faith and trust in God. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:7, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." This means that we can bring our worries and fears to God, and trust that He will care for us and help us through them. And when we struggle with things like addiction or sin, we can turn to God for help and guidance. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." This means that we can trust in God's plan and guidance, even when things seem difficult or uncertain.

So why can't we just be normal again? Because being normal is not what God wants for us. He wants us to be transformed, to be new creations in Christ. And this process can be difficult and challenging at times. But with faith and trust in God, we can face our struggles and challenges, and come out stronger and more confident on the other side. As the Bible says in Romans 12:2, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." This means that we can be transformed by God's power and guidance, and live a life that is truly normal, not just in the sense of being like everyone else, but in the sense of being like Christ.
