Anger: A Sinful Emotion or a Righteous Response?

Is it a sin to be angry? The answer is not as straightforward as it may seem. While anger can be a sinful emotion, it is not always the case. In fact, the Bible approves of being angry under certain circumstances. For instance, it is a right and necessary reaction to objective moral evil. God is only angry where anger is called for, and even among men, there is such a thing as righteous indignation.
