Understanding the Testing of Faith

The Bible teaches that faith is tested, and this testing can strengthen our faith (Hebrews 3:14). When we face challenges, it's essential to assess our faith and determine if it's based on God's Word. We must bind the thoughts that don't come from God and that don't match the Word of God. If we don't give the enemy a seat at our table, we can trust God and know that He will not let us be tested more than we can stand (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Principles for Growing Faith

To grow our faith, we must continually use it, just like developing strong muscles. We must take a leap of faith into God's provision, even when we don't know what He will do. Faith is knowing God will do something, even when we don't know what He will do. We must talk to God continually and claim His promises. We must also determine what is the first thing to do, count the cost, and pray for guidance. Our faith is based on the Word of God, and we must do what God wants us to do, whether or not we are successful.

Moment by Moment Faith

In moments of testing, we must trust God for guidance in small increments. We must do what lies clearly at hand and seek light for the next step. Our faith is like a path where faith alone can walk, and step by step, we must trust God. We must not despair if we have known failure, but call out for help and guidance. By following these principles, we can grow a greater and stronger faith as we read and study God's Word, which is called "the word of faith" (Romans 10:8; 1 Timothy 4:6). This means the Bible contains information about the nature of faith and how to grow it. By applying these principles, we can trust God and know that He will help us in our time of need.
