Can I really not pay for my kids' education?

As parents, we often worry about providing for our children's future, including their education. However, the Bible teaches us to trust in God's sovereignty and provision, rather than relying solely on our own resources. In 1 Timothy 5:8, it says, "But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." This verse emphasizes the importance of providing for our families, but it also implies that God will provide for us as we seek to honor Him.

Rather than relying on our own financial resources, we can trust in God's promise to provide for our needs. Matthew 6:33 says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." This verse teaches us to prioritize our relationship with God and seek His kingdom first, and He will provide for our needs, including our children's education. This doesn't mean that we shouldn't work hard to provide for our children, but rather that we should trust in God's provision and sovereignty over our lives.

In fact, the Bible teaches us that children are a blessing from God, and that parents are responsible for teaching and training them in the ways of the Lord (Proverbs 22:6). Rather than focusing on providing for our children's education, we should focus on teaching them the values and principles of God's kingdom. This will give them a strong foundation for life, and will also help them to develop a relationship with God that will provide for them in ways that go beyond financial provision. By trusting in God's sovereignty and provision, we can release our anxiety and worry about paying for our children's education, and instead focus on teaching them to seek first the kingdom of God.
