The Futility of Fighting

The question of what's the use of even fighting when everything seems to be against me is a common one. However, as Christians, we must recognize that the Bible teaches us that our struggles and conflicts often stem from our own desires and lusts that battle within us. James 4:1-2 reminds us, "What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war." This passage highlights the internal struggles we face, which often lead to external conflicts.

The Importance of Spiritual Warfare

In spiritual warfare, we are not fighting against people, but against the devil and his schemes. We must be aware of the Enemy's tactics and not give him a seat at our table. The Bible teaches us to put on the whole armor of God and to fight the good fight of faith (Ephesians 6:10-18). This means we must be prepared to engage in spiritual battles, but we must also remember that our fight is not with people, but with the devil. We must keep a clear head and not let our emotions dictate our actions. Instead, we must seek God's guidance and strength to overcome our struggles.

Victory Through Christ

As Christians, we have the victory in Christ. God is with us, and He has established a beachhead of victory through Christ. However, we must be willing to engage in spiritual warfare to maintain our victory. This means we must be ready to fight for our minds, our hearts, and our relationships. We must be willing to pray and seek God's guidance, rather than relying on our own strength and wisdom. By doing so, we can overcome our struggles and emerge victorious, just as we are promised in the Bible. "The Lord Almighty is for you. So everyone is not against you. Don't give the Enemy a seat at your table." (2 Chronicles 20:15-17)
