Canceling Debt and Finding Freedom

As an evangelical Christian, I believe that debt can be a heavy burden that weighs on our hearts and minds. It can also be a source of anger and resentment, especially if we feel that others have taken advantage of us or wronged us in some way. The Bible teaches us that we have the power to cancel debt, just like the master in the parable of the unforgiving servant (Matthew 18:23-27). This means that we can choose to forgive those who have wronged us and cancel the debt they owe us.

To cancel debt, we need to identify what is owed to us and make a specific declaration of forgiveness. This can be done through prayer, as an example: "Heavenly Father, I choose to cancel this debt. ___ doesn't owe me anymore." By canceling debt, we can experience freedom from the weight of resentment and anger. We can also experience freedom from the burden of debt itself, as we focus on living within our means and making wise financial decisions.

As we cancel debt, we need to remember that forgiveness is not the same as forgetting. Forgiveness means that we choose to release the debt and let go of the anger and resentment associated with it. This is an act of our will, and it requires us to make a conscious decision to forgive and cancel the debt. By doing so, we can experience the freedom and peace that comes from living in obedience to God's Word. We can also experience the joy of living a life that reflects our values and priorities, rather than being controlled by debt and resentment.
