As Philippians 1:6 reminds us, "Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." This verse encourages us to trust in God's sovereignty and His plan for our lives, even when things feel overwhelming.

To maintain a sense of focus and direction, we need to cultivate a habit of Bible reading and prayer. This is essential for making progress in our Christian walk. We must rearrange our priorities to make time for it, even if it means saying no to other things. By filling our minds with the thought that God is present and actively working in our lives, we can trust in His goodness and peace, even in the midst of chaos. As the Bible says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

In addition to prioritizing our relationship with God and cultivating a habit of Bible reading and prayer, we need to learn to say no to things that are not essential. This means building margin into the architecture of our lives, so that we have space to breathe and focus on what's truly important. By doing so, we can avoid burnout and maintain a sense of direction and purpose, even when everything feels overwhelming. As the Bible reminds us, "My heavenly Father knows all about this!" (Matthew 6:32). By trusting in God's goodness and sovereignty, we can find peace and focus, even in the midst of chaos.
