Understanding Your Church as Family

When you're feeling overwhelmed and struggling to get the support you need from your church, it's essential to understand that the church is actually the family of God. As the Bible says, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them" (Matthew 18:20). This means that when you're part of a church community, you're not just attending a building or a service; you're part of a spiritual family that's meant to support and care for one another.

Prayer and Repentance

To get the support you need, start by praying for your church and for yourself. Ask God to pour out His Spirit on your church, and confess any areas where you've fallen short. As the Bible says, "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). This means that God is willing to hear and respond to our prayers when we humble ourselves and seek His face. As you pray, ask your church leadership to join you in praying for revival and renewal within the church.

Building Relationships and Seeking Help

To get the support you need from your church, it's essential to build relationships with other believers and to seek help when you need it. This might mean sharing your struggles with a trusted friend or mentor, or seeking guidance from a pastor or other church leader. As the Bible says, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2). This means that we're called to carry one another's burdens and to support one another in our struggles. By building relationships and seeking help when we need it, we can build a strong support system within our church that will help us through even the toughest times.
