Will We Have Bodies in Heaven?

The Bible teaches that we will have bodies in heaven, but not in the same form as our present bodies. The resurrected body of Jesus, which he now possesses in heaven, is a perfect, glorified body that is similar to, but distinct from, our present bodies. This is evident in the fact that Jesus ate and was recognizable after his resurrection, yet he still had a human body with flesh and bones (Luke 24:39-43). The Bible also teaches that our resurrection bodies will be like Jesus' glorious body (Philippians 3:21), and that we will be transformed to bear the image of the Man of heaven (1 Corinthians 15:49).

The Bible also indicates that our resurrection bodies will be imperishable, never growing old or weak (1 Corinthians 15:42-44). This means that our bodies will never die or decay, and that we will not experience the limitations and weaknesses that come with our present bodies.
