Your Question:
Why did God allow my business to fail?
Answer:
I've been in a similar situation, my friend. As a pastor, I've made my share of mistakes, including some terrible financial decisions early in my ministry. It almost put Thomas Road Baptist Church and Liberty University out of business. But God was gracious, and we came out of that crisis stronger than ever. I learned that even in failure, God can use us for His purposes. As I reflect on that experience, I'm reminded of the story of Job. He faced incredible suffering, and yet he refused to sin or charge God with wrong. He said, "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." (Job 1:21) Job's experience teaches us that God's ways are not always easy to understand, but that doesn't mean we can't trust Him. Sometimes, God allows troubles to plague us so that we can learn to trust Him more deeply. In my own life, I've learned that God doesn't need me or my business to succeed. He can accomplish His purposes without me. But when I'm willing to trust Him, even in the midst of failure, He can use me in ways I never thought possible. As the Bible says, "If it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow it" (Acts 5:39). So, even if your business has failed, don't give up. Trust God, and He may just use that failure to bring about something greater than you could have ever imagined.
