The Battle for Your Life is Fought and Won in Your Mind

The battle for your life is not a physical fight, but a mental one. It is a battle for control of your thoughts, emotions, and actions. The enemy, Satan, wants to take control of your life and lead you astray from God's plan for you. But God wants you to take control of your mind, in Jesus' name, through the power of His Holy Spirit. You can think your way into changing your life for good. This is why it is essential to memorize Scripture, as it helps you to know God's Word and to be prepared to fight against the enemy's attacks.

The Importance of Fighting the Battle Before God

The battle is lost when we fight it first in the external world. We must get alone with God, do battle before Him, and settle the matter once and for all. This is because the enemy is a master of deception and can make us think that we are fighting the right battle, but in reality, we are not. We must take our thoughts and emotions captive and bring them under submission to God's Word. This is a daily battle that requires perseverance and faith. As Paul says, "I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway" (1 Cor. 9:27).

God Fights for You, But You Must Also Fight

While God fights the battle for us, we must also be willing to fight. We must take control of our thoughts, emotions, and actions, and bring them under submission to God's Word. This is a fight that requires faith, perseverance, and prayer. As Paul says, "Pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored" (2 Thess. 3:1). We must pray for others, especially those in authority, that they may promote conditions in which people will come to salvation. By doing so, we can overcome the enemy's attacks and live a life that is pleasing to God.
