The Debt of Love

The Debt of Obligation

However, the Bible teaches us that we cannot escape our financial responsibilities by simply declaring bankruptcy or defaulting on our debts. In Proverbs 22:7, it says, "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender." This verse highlights the importance of being responsible with our finances and avoiding debt whenever possible.

Finding a Way Forward

So, how can we afford treatment when we're already drowning in debt? The answer lies in seeking help and guidance from trusted sources, such as our pastors, physicians, or financial advisors. We must also be willing to make difficult decisions and sacrifices in order to prioritize our financial responsibilities. As Brother Worley said, "You can't afford not to make this investment in yourself, your health, and your future." By seeking God's guidance and wisdom, we can find a way forward and break free from the cycle of debt and obligation. Remember, it's not selfish to invest in our own well-being; it's selfish not to do so. By prioritizing our financial responsibilities and seeking help when needed, we can live a life that reflects the debt of love and not just the debt of obligation.
