Your Question:
can i really make a living on my own?
Answer:
My friend, I've given this a lot of thought, especially as a pastor and a husband. You see, when you're self-employed, it's easy to get caught up in the idea that your success or failure is tied to your own identity. But as a follower of Christ, I believe our identity is rooted in Him, not in our accomplishments. As an ambassador for the kingdom, we're called to serve, not to serve ourselves. If we're not motivated by a sense of purpose and mission, we'll struggle to find the drive to get out of bed in the morning, let alone run a successful business. But when we're called to serve, we're no longer concerned with our own success or failure. We're driven by a desire to serve others and bring glory to God. For me, as a pastor, I've seen this play out in my own life. When I'm focused on serving my congregation and spreading the message of Christ, I'm not concerned with whether or not our church "succeeds" or "fails." I'm driven by a sense of purpose and mission, and that's what gets me out of bed in the morning. So, to answer your question, yes, you can make a living on your own, but it's not about you – it's about serving a higher purpose.
