Your Question:

How can I trust God when my body is screaming in pain?

Answer:

I can only imagine the pain and anguish you're going through. As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with physical and emotional pain, and it's never easy to find the words to comfort them. But I want to share with you a truth that has helped me and many others in similar situations. When our bodies are screaming in pain, it's often a wake-up call to our spiritual state. It's a reminder that we're not as close to God as we thought, and that we need to seek His help and guidance.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that we're being transformed into the image of Christ, and that's often a painful process. But it's not God who's causing the pain, it's our own sin and brokenness that's being exposed. As the theologian Vernon Grounds said, "An individual, quite completely free from tension, anxiety, and conflict may be living a life that is far from God." So, when we're in pain, it's an opportunity to seek God's help and to repent of our sins.

But how can we trust God in the midst of pain? The answer is Jesus Christ. He's the one who suffered for us, and He's the one who can sustain us through our pain. As it says in John 21:17, "Do you love Me?" Jesus is asking us if we love Him, and if we do, He promises to be with us in our pain. We must remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). So, I tell you to lay claim to that sound mind, and to trust in Jesus, who will never betray us or let us down.
