Your Question:

What if I lose everything and have to start over?

Answer:

Losing everything and having to start over can be a daunting prospect. As a pastor, I've seen many people face similar challenges, and it's easy to get caught up in thinking that we've been through the greatest crisis of our lives and therefore won't turn back. But the truth is, our reliance on God is what gets us through tough times, and when we start to rely on worldly opinion or our own strength, we're in trouble. We must stay focused on God and not neglect our spiritual disciplines, even when things get tough.

In fact, it's during times of crisis that we must be more intentional about staying close to our families and to God. As a husband and father, I know that this can be a challenge, but it's essential to making it through difficult times. We must make a concerted effort to stay connected and plan for the future together. This means being creative and speaking to the heart of our loved ones, even when things seem bleak.

When faced with uncertainty, it's essential to look back at our life purpose and ask if the new step of faith will help us accomplish it. We must also look to God's plan and ask where He is in this. It's easy to get caught up in the technical details of a crisis, but we must keep our eyes on what God wants to do through us and those around us. As I always say to my congregation, "Lord, when I fail, I will..." and then I must be proactive about a new strategy to handle failure. This requires prayer, accountability, and a willingness to learn and grow from our mistakes.
