Can I lose God's love?

The Bible teaches us that God's love is not dependent on our feelings or actions, but rather on His sovereign nature. As the psalmist writes, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). This means that God's love is not conditional on our performance or emotional state, but rather on His character and nature. Therefore, it is impossible to lose God's love, as it is a fixed and unchanging aspect of His being.

However, our perception of God's love can change based on our circumstances and experiences. When we face difficulties or losses, it can be challenging to feel God's love. But this does not mean that God's love has diminished or disappeared. Rather, it may be that our understanding of God's love is being refined or deepened through our experiences. As the Bible teaches, "We love because he first loved us" (1 John 4:19). This means that our love for God is rooted in His love for us, and not the other way around.

In order to experience God's love, we must seek Him with our whole heart. As Jesus teaches, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matthew 6:33). This means that we must prioritize our relationship with God above all else, and seek to know Him intimately. When we do this, we will find that God's love is always available to us, regardless of our circumstances. As the Bible teaches, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness" (Jeremiah 31:3). This means that God's love is a constant and unchanging reality, available to us at all times.
