Can I still find purpose?
The Pursuit of Purpose
As a Christian, we often struggle to find our purpose in life. We may feel lost, uncertain, and unsure of what direction to take. But the Bible teaches us that our purpose is not something we can discover on our own, but rather it is something that is given to us by God. According to the Bible, our purpose is to enjoy God and take pleasure in Him (Psalm 16:11). This is the ultimate purpose of our existence, and it is something that brings us joy and fulfillment.
But what about our personal interests and goals? Should we pursue them as our purpose in life? The Bible teaches us that our interests and goals should not be our ultimate purpose. Instead, we should use them as means to an end, which is to enjoy God and glorify Him. As the Bible says, "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31). This means that we should not elevate our personal interests to the level of our ultimate purpose, but rather we should use them as a means to glorify God.
So, how can we discover God's purpose for our lives? The Bible teaches us that we should focus on Jesus and follow Him. As we run the race of life, we should look to Jesus as our example and our guide (Hebrews 12:1-2). We should also seek to understand God's purpose for us by reading His Word and talking to Him in prayer. And finally, we should be open to the possibility that God's purpose for us may not be what we expect or desire. As the Bible says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9). By following Jesus and seeking to understand God's purpose for us, we can find our purpose and live a life that is pleasing to Him.
