Your Question:

Why did God let my body betray me?

Answer:

As I reflect on the question of why God let my body betray me, I'm reminded of the story of Judas Iscariot. Just as Judas betrayed Jesus, knowing that he had been chosen to do so, our bodies can betray us in ways that seem to contradict God's plans for us. But what's key is understanding that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and as such, they are subject to the desires of our hearts.

In the same way that Judas carried out the devil's desire, our bodies can be influenced by our own sinful desires. We might feel like we're being betrayed by our bodies, but the truth is that we're not being betrayed - we're being tempted. And just as Jesus knew that He was about to be betrayed, but still chose to go to the cross, we have the power to choose how we respond to our own temptations.

For me, it's about recognizing that my body is a temple, and that I have the power to choose how I use it. When I feel like my body is betraying me, I take my sins to the cross and ask Jesus to forgive them. I leave them at His feet, knowing that they're forgiven through His blood. And then, I'm ready to pray and ask God for the things I need. It's not about being perfect or deserving of God's blessings - it's about having a right-standing relationship with Him, and trusting that He's good and generous, even when things don't feel that way.
