Your Question:
Can I really leave my kids alone in this world?
Answer:
As a parent, I often worry about leaving my kids alone in this world. The world can be a scary and unpredictable place, especially for teenagers. With all the dangers lurking around, it's natural to feel concerned about their well-being. But, as I've come to realize, it's not about drawing a line in the sand or trying to control their lives. It's about being there for them, praying for them, and trusting in God's plan for their lives. As a pastor and a parent, I've learned that my role is not to be their guardian or controller, but to be their guide and support. I need to trust that God is working in their lives, even when I'm not there to see it. I need to pray for them, asking God to bring godly role models into their lives and to protect them from harm. I need to remind myself that my children are not disposable or inconvenient, but a gift from God, and that their worth and value come from Him. As I look at my own children, Joshua and Rebecca, I'm reminded that I need to be careful not to overstep my boundaries or try to control their lives too much. I need to give them the freedom to learn from their mistakes and to make their own decisions. And when they do make mistakes, I need to be there to support them, to pray for them, and to remind them that God is always with them. By doing so, I can trust that they will grow into the people God wants them to be, and that He will always be their rock and their guide.
