The question of purpose in life is a profound one that has puzzled humans for centuries. From an atheistic perspective, life may seem meaningless and pointless, as suggested by the idea that we are simply the result of a cosmic accident with no inherent value or significance. However, as an evangelical Christian, I would argue that life has a profound purpose that is rooted in the existence of God. According to the Bible, we were created by God for a noble reason, to do good works and bring glory to Him (Ephesians 2:10). This purpose is not based on our own accomplishments or achievements, but rather on the love and redemption that God has offered us through Jesus Christ.

The idea that life is meaningless without God is a central theme in the book of Ecclesiastes, which states that the fate of humans and animals is the same, and that life is but a fleeting moment in the grand scheme of the universe. However, the Bible also teaches that when we put our faith in Jesus Christ, our lives take on a new meaning and purpose. As the apostle Peter writes, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3). This new birth brings us a sense of hope and purpose that is not based on our own abilities or circumstances, but rather on the power and love of God.

In contrast to the atheistic view that life is pointless and meaningless, the Christian perspective offers a message of hope and purpose. As the apostle Paul writes, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10). This message is not just a philosophical or intellectual exercise, but a deeply personal and relational one that is rooted in the love and redemption of God. By placing our faith in Jesus Christ, we can find a sense of purpose and meaning that transcends the fleeting moments of life and speaks to our eternal destiny.
