Biblical Answer

The Bible teaches that believers will be with Jesus in heaven after their death. In fact, Paul says that when Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory (Colossians 3:4). This is not just a future hope, but a present reality. We are currently hidden in Christ, but when he is revealed at his coming, we will also be revealed because we will have bodies like his (Colossians 3:4). This is a glorious hope that should fill our hearts with joy and anticipation.

However, this raises the question of what happens to our children who die before we do. Will they be with us in heaven? The Bible does not provide a clear answer to this question, but it does give us some clues. Jesus said that when he returns, he will come in the same way that he left (Acts 1:11). This suggests that he will come to take us to heaven, where we will be with him and with our loved ones who have died. Some biblical passages, such as 2 Samuel 12:23, suggest that children who die in infancy are with God and will be reunited with their parents in heaven.

Ultimately, our hope is not in the answer to this question, but in the character of God himself. We can trust that he is good, loving, and just, and that he will do what is best for our children. We can pray that our children will come to know Jesus as their Savior, and that they will be filled with his Holy Spirit. And we can trust that, regardless of what happens to our children in this life, they will be with us in heaven, where we will be reunited with Jesus and with all those who have died in faith. This is a hope that should fill our hearts with joy and anticipation, and should give us the courage to trust in God's goodness and sovereignty, even in the midst of uncertainty and doubt.
