Starting Over: Overcoming Fear and Doubt

Are you too old to start over after losing your business? The answer is no. It's never too late to start again. As the Bible teaches, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6). God is the one who gives us the power to start anew, and He is the one who helps us to overcome fear and doubt.

The Power of Faith

Faith is the foundation upon which we build our lives. It's the confidence that we have in God's goodness and His ability to help us. When we put our trust in Him, we can start to see that He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). This is the kind of faith that will propel us forward, even when we feel like giving up. We must remember that God is not limited by our age or circumstances. He is the one who created the universe and everything in it, and He is the one who can help us to start again.

Starting Over with a Clear Conscience

When we feel like giving up, it's easy to deceive ourselves and say that we've tried everything. But the truth is, we may not have tried at all. We may have just gone through the motions. When we start again, we must do so with a clear conscience. We must be honest with ourselves and with God about our intentions and our actions. We must seek His guidance and wisdom, and we must trust in His ability to help us. As the Bible teaches, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). With faith, trust, and a clear conscience, we can start over, no matter what our age. We can start again, and we can build a new life that reflects God's goodness and His love.
