Will You Lose Your Home?

Losing one's home can be a daunting and overwhelming experience. The Bible teaches us that our true home is not of this world, but rather with God (John 14:2-3). Jesus said, "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you" (John 14:2). This means that our eternal home is secure and waiting for us, regardless of what happens in this life.

In this life, we may face challenges that threaten our earthly home. However, the Bible reminds us that our possessions and wealth are temporary and fleeting (1 Timothy 6:7). As the psalmist says, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters" (Psalm 24:1-2). This means that our homes and possessions are not our own, but rather a trust from God that we are stewards of.

In the face of uncertainty and change, it's essential to focus on what truly matters - our relationship with God and our eternal home. As the prophet Haggai says, "Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house [the temple] remains a ruin?" (Haggai 1:4). This question challenges us to prioritize our spiritual lives and our relationship with God above our earthly concerns. By doing so, we can find peace and security in the midst of uncertainty, knowing that our true home is secure in heaven.
