Can I Still Have a Relationship with God?

A relationship with God is not something that can be earned or maintained through good deeds or outward expressions. Rather, it is a personal and intimate connection with the infinite-personal God, based on the work of Christ in communication and love. This relationship is not dependent on our actions, but rather on God's character and His promises, which He will never change.

The Bible indicates that our relationship with God is permanent and secure, much like a child's relationship with their parent. As children of God, we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). This means that we are in a lifelong relationship with God, and He will not abandon us. Our relationship with God is not something that can be broken or severed, but rather it is a deep and abiding connection that is sustained by God's love and grace.

In order to have a relationship with God, we must be willing to resolve our differences with others, including those we have offended. Our relationship with God is inseparable from our relationships with others, and we cannot be in fellowship with the Father and out of fellowship with others (2 Corinthians 6:14). By recognizing our need for God and His love, and by seeking to live in harmony with others, we can enter into a deep and meaningful relationship with God, one that is based on His promises and character, rather than our own actions. This relationship is not something that can be taken for granted, but rather it is a precious gift that requires our attention and devotion. As we seek to deepen our relationship with God, we must remember that it is a lifelong journey, one that requires us to surrender to His love and guidance, and to trust in His promises.
