Can I Still Trust God?

The question of whether we can still trust God is a complex and multifaceted issue. On one hand, the Bible teaches us that trust in God is essential for a life of faith. In Matthew 9:29, Jesus says, "According to your faith let it be to you." This means that our level of trust in God determines the level of blessing we experience in our lives. On the other hand, the presence of evil and suffering in the world can lead us to question God's goodness and trustworthiness.

However, the Bible also teaches us that our trust in God is not based on our own abilities or confidence, but rather on God's character and promises. In Isaiah 50:10-11, God says, "Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God." This passage encourages us to trust in God, not because of our own strength or abilities, but because of God's sovereignty and goodness. Our trust in God is not a blind trust, but a trust based on his character and promises.

The Bible also teaches us that true faith involves trusting God even when we don't understand what's happening. In Psalm 31:19, David writes, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." This passage encourages us to trust in God, even when we're facing difficult circumstances. Our trust in God is not based on our own understanding or control, but on his sovereignty and goodness. As we trust in God, we can experience peace, strength, and guidance, even in the midst of uncertainty and suffering.
