Biblical Answer

When we consider our chances of survival, we must understand that life is fragile and fleeting. The Bible reminds us that we are all going to die (Hebrews 9:27). This reality should prompt us to re-evaluate our priorities and our relationship with God. As we navigate the uncertainties of life, we must not rely on our own strength or abilities, but instead, trust in the sovereignty of God, who is in control of all things (Psalm 103:19).

The concept of probability can be misleading when it comes to survival. Statistics may indicate a low probability of recovery from illness or injury, but this does not necessarily mean that we should give up hope. In fact, the Bible encourages us to hold onto hope, even in the face of uncertainty (Romans 5:2-5). As we face challenges and risks, we must not become detached or lose sight of our values and relationships. Instead, we should rely on the promises of God, who is faithful and loving (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Ultimately, our chances of survival are not determined by our own abilities or circumstances, but by our relationship with God. As believers, we have the assurance of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16). This means that even in the midst of uncertainty and risk, we can have confidence in our ultimate survival and well-being. As the Bible says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Therefore, we can trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, even in the face of uncertainty and risk.
