Your Question:

Can I still be a good parent if I'm sick?

Answer:

As a pastor and a father, I've often seen parents struggle with the idea of being a good parent while dealing with illness. But, in my experience, being sick doesn't necessarily mean you can't be a good parent. In fact, I believe that it's often in our times of weakness that we can be most grateful for God's blessings.

When I read through the Bible, I see examples of people who were sick and yet still found ways to serve and care for others. For instance, in James 5, it says to call for the elders of the church to pray over the sick person and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. This shows that God is still active in our lives, even when we're not feeling our best. And, as a parent, I want to model that kind of faith for my children, Joshua and Rebecca.

Of course, there are times when our health may be compromised, and we need to take care of ourselves. But, as long as we're doing our best to care for our children and seek God's guidance, I believe we can still be good parents, even when we're not feeling our best. It's all about being intentional and seeking God's wisdom in the midst of our struggles.
