The Biblical Perspective on the Unborn

The Bible clearly teaches that unborn babies are considered persons in Scripture. In Psalm 139, we find strong support for the value of the unborn. The psalmist writes, "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb" (Psalm 139:13). This passage shows that God is actively involved in the formation of the unborn child, and therefore, the child is considered a person in God's sight. Furthermore, in Luke 1:41, 44 and 2:12, 16, we see that unborn children are referred to as "children" or "babies," which implies that they are considered persons.

The Biblical View of Human Life

The Bible teaches that human life begins at conception. In Exodus 21:22-25, we see that the punishment for causing a miscarriage is the same as the punishment for causing the death of a born child. This passage suggests that the unborn child is considered a person in God's sight. Additionally, in Psalm 51:5, David writes, "Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me." This passage implies that David's life began at conception, and therefore, human life begins at conception.
