If you have to give up your business, what would you do?

In this situation, I would advise you to surrender to Jesus Christ and place no conditions on how the brokenness will come. This means being broken from your own understanding of yourself and being willing to let go of your business. As the missionary/martyr Jim Elliot said, "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." In other words, if you have to give up your business, it's better to give it up and gain something far more valuable, which is a relationship with Jesus Christ.

It's not about being selfish or unselfish; it's about being willing to let go of something that's not as important as your eternal salvation. As the Bible says in Psalm 20:4, "May He send you help from the sanctuary and support from Eden. May He grant you what your heart desires and fulfill all your purpose." In this situation, your heart's desire should be to follow Jesus Christ and surrender to His will.

In business, if revenues are down, you cut costs. If you're not getting what you hoped for in a marriage, you re-evaluate and make changes. If you're not getting the desired results in a business, you adjust your strategy. Similarly, if you're not getting the desired results in your life, you should be willing to make changes and surrender to Jesus Christ. It's not about being comfortable or secure; it's about being willing to take a risk and trust in God's sovereignty. As the Bible says, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36). In this situation, it's better to give up your business and gain something far more valuable, which is a relationship with Jesus Christ.
