Can I still find comfort in my faith when everything feels so wrong?

Faith is not the absence of difficulties, but rather the presence of hope and trust in God's sovereignty despite them. When everything feels wrong, it's easy to lose sight of our faith. However, faith is not about feeling good or having a positive mood, but rather about knowing that God is with us and hears our cries. As the Psalmist wrote, "You have seen, O Lord, how I have been beaten down; you have seen the troubles that have come upon me" (Psalm 88:7). Yet, even in the midst of darkness, we can choose to exercise our faith by trusting in God's goodness and providence.

It's essential to remember that faith is not a feeling, but a choice. We can choose to trust in God, even when our circumstances seem to contradict our faith. As the Bible says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Our faith is not based on our emotions or circumstances, but on the promises of God. We can choose to hold on to our faith, even when our reason tells us otherwise. As C.S. Lewis said, "Faith, in the sense in which I am here using the word, is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted, in spite of your changing moods" (Mere Christianity).

When we're struggling with depression or feeling hopeless, it's easy to lose sight of our faith. However, faith is not about feeling good or having a positive mood. It's about trusting in God's goodness and sovereignty, even when everything feels wrong. We can choose to exercise our faith by talking to God continually, claiming His promises, and trusting in His providence. As Jesus said, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent" (John 6:29). Our job is to trust in God, even when everything feels wrong, and to know that He is with us and hears our cries. By doing so, we can find comfort in our faith, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
