Making Your Family Whole

The Bible teaches us that family is a vital part of God's design for our lives. In fact, it says, "Family is God's first institution" (Genesis 2:24). As a family, we are called to be a community of love, support, and encouragement. So, how can we make our family whole? One way is to encourage one another and be thankful for whatever good or whatever progress comes to any member of the family. We are to be grateful for the unique contributions each family member brings to the table, just as the Bible says, "all are contributing to the good of the family and the household" (1 Corinthians 12:7).

To foster a sense of unity and purpose in our family, we can write a mission statement that reflects our values and goals. This can be a powerful way to remind ourselves of what's truly important and to work together towards a common vision. As a family, we can read our mission statement together daily, discussing it and evaluating how we're living up to it. This can help us stay on track and make adjustments as needed. By doing so, we can create a sense of shared purpose and direction, which is essential for building a strong and whole family.

In addition to encouraging one another and setting a shared mission statement, we can also cultivate a sense of normalcy and routine in our family life. This can be as simple as spending quality time together, sharing meals, and engaging in conversations that promote connection and understanding. By doing so, we can create a sense of safety and security, which is essential for our children's emotional and spiritual well-being. As the Bible says, "Give your kids a great gift. They will know deep down in their souls that their mom and dad love each other and are never going to leave each other." When we prioritize our family relationships and make time for each other, we can build a strong foundation for our children to thrive.
