What's the point of living if I'm in debt?!
The point of living is not about accumulating wealth, possessions, or debt. Rather, it is about living a life that honors God and brings glory to Him. As the Bible says, "For to me to live is Christ" (Philippians 1:21). When we focus on our relationship with God and prioritize our spiritual well-being, we are more likely to make choices that lead to financial freedom and a healthier lifestyle. This means being content with what we have, rather than constantly desiring more (Hebrews 13:5). By keeping our priorities straight and living within our means, we can break free from the cycle of debt and live a life that is pleasing to God.
Debt is a pathway that leads to destruction, not freedom. When we accumulate debt, we are essentially saying that we are not willing to live within our means and prioritize our spiritual well-being. This can lead to a host of problems, including anxiety, stress, and relational issues. As the Bible says, "The borrower is slave to the lender" (Proverbs 22:7). When we are slaves to debt, we are not free to live the life that God has called us to live. Instead, we are bound by our financial obligations and unable to pursue our spiritual goals.
To break free from the cycle of debt, we need to make some changes in our lives. This may mean cutting back on unnecessary expenses, creating a budget, and prioritizing our spiritual well-being. It may also mean seeking help and support from others, such as a financial advisor or a mentor. Ultimately, the key to breaking free from debt is to focus on our relationship with God and prioritize our spiritual well-being. When we do this, we are more likely to make choices that lead to financial freedom and a healthier lifestyle. As the Bible says, "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). By seeking God's kingdom and righteousness first, we can break free from the cycle of debt and live a life that is pleasing to Him.
