What happens when we put our faith in God's sovereignty?

Understanding the Concept of Sovereignty

When we put our faith in God's sovereignty, we are acknowledging that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good. His sovereignty is not limited by human circumstances or behavior. Rather, it is a universal and eternal reality that governs all creation, including the free actions of humans. This means that God's sovereignty is not just a matter of the external world, but also of the internal world of human hearts and minds.

The Impact on Our Lives

When we put our faith in God's sovereignty, it should affect our lives in several ways. Firstly, it should give us a sense of trust and reliance on God's goodness and wisdom. We should be able to say with the Psalmist, "Your hands have made me and formed me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments" (Psalm 119:73). Secondly, it should give us a sense of humility and submission to God's will. We should be willing to say, "Not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42).
