Navigating uncertain times can be a daunting task. Our natural inclination is to be precise and try to forecast accurately what will happen next, but this can lead to a mindset of trying to reach a predetermined goal. However, the nature of uncertainty is that it cannot be predicted or measured. As John 1:3 states, "What has been will be again, and what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun." This means that we must learn to live in the present moment, trusting that God is sovereign over all things, even in times of uncertainty.

The concept of time is also relevant to navigating uncertain times. As the philosopher Aristotle noted, "When then time is passing, it may be perceived and measured; but when it is past, it cannot, because it is not." This means that we can only truly know the present moment, and not the past or future. This is a liberating truth, as it means that we do not have to be burdened by the weight of the past or the uncertainty of the future. Instead, we can focus on living in the present, trusting that God is guiding us through the unknown.

In times of uncertainty, it is essential to trust in God's sovereignty and providence. As the Bible teaches, "Our God is a God of order and not of chaos" (1 Corinthians 14:33). This means that even in the midst of uncertainty, God is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). By trusting in God's sovereignty, we can find peace and comfort in the midst of uncertainty, knowing that He is guiding us through the unknown. As the psalmist wrote, "The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O God, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands" (Psalm 138:8). This verse reminds us that God is always working, even in times of uncertainty, and that He will bring about His purpose in our lives.
