Setting Priorities

To prioritize our needs, we must first understand what is truly important in our lives. According to the Bible, our priorities must be God first, God second, and God third. This means that our relationship with God should be our top priority, and we should seek to spend time with Him in prayer and Bible reading. In fact, it is essential for Christians to make time for prayer and Bible reading in order to make progress in their faith.

Understanding Our Needs

In order to prioritize our needs, we must first understand what our needs are. According to the Bible, the most significant needs of humans are adequate food, clothing, and housing. When we have these basic needs met, we are satisfied. However, it is also important to prioritize our relationships, particularly our marriage. If we want our husband to prioritize us, we must also prioritize him. This means being willing to listen to him, understand his needs, and be willing to make sacrifices for him.

Making Time for God

In order to prioritize our needs, we must make time for God. This means getting up early in the morning to give time to God in prayer, and making time for Bible reading. We must also be willing to rework our priorities and make a new schedule if our current one is not allowing time for God. By prioritizing our relationship with God, we can gain the strength and guidance we need to make wise decisions and live a life that reflects God's values. As the Bible says, "Let everything else, including work, clothes, and food, be set aside. The busyness of things obscures our concentration on God." (Matthew 6:33) By prioritizing God, we can maintain a position of openness to Him and seek His guidance in all areas of our lives.
