Your Question:

where do i find hope?

Answer:

As someone who has experienced the highs and lows of life, I can attest that hope can be a fragile thing. It's easy to lose sight of it when disappointment and despair seem to be closing in. But I've learned that hope is not something we can just give up on. It's a choice we make every day to hold onto the promise of a better tomorrow. For me, that promise is rooted in my faith in God.

As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with hopelessness, and I've learned that it's often a result of looking at the present situation without considering the bigger picture. We tend to focus on our own struggles and forget that there's a larger reality at work. But when we look to God, we see that even in the midst of suffering, there is hope. We have the promise of eternal life, a new creation free from tears and grief, and a God who never lies. These are the realities that sustain our hopes, even when the world around us seems to be falling apart.

For me, growing in hope is about learning to say "Come, Lord Jesus" and trusting that His response will be, "Yes, I am coming soon." It's about finding daily reminders of God's presence and promise, and holding onto them even when things seem darkest. As I look back on 19 years of marriage to my wonderful wife Susan, and as a father to Joshua and Rebecca, I know that hope is what has sustained us through the ups and downs of life. It's a choice we make every day to trust in God's goodness and promise, and to hold onto hope, even when it seems like the last thing we can do.
