Embracing Your New Reality

When faced with a new disability, it's natural to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about how to adjust. Rather than turning away from God in frustration, we must learn to trust in His goodness and sovereignty.

Faith and Acceptance

Accepting your new disability by faith means acknowledging that God is in control, even when things don't make sense to us. It's about recognizing that God's ways are higher than our own, and that He is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). This doesn't mean that we won't face challenges or difficulties, but it means that we can trust that God is with us and will help us navigate these challenges. As the Bible says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).

Working Through Difficulties

As you adjust to your new disability, it's essential to learn what God wants you to know and work through the difficulties by following His principles. This might involve seeking guidance from medical professionals, counseling, or spiritual advisors. It may also involve developing new skills and adapting to new ways of doing things. But above all, it's about trusting in God's goodness and sovereignty, even when things seem uncertain or difficult. As the Bible says, "And all these things are of little account compared to the treasure of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord" (Philippians 3:8). By focusing on our relationship with Christ and trusting in His goodness, we can find peace and strength in the midst of adversity.
